William MacGregor Curriculum
Children learn through engaging and meaningful experiences. Our Curriculum’s aim is to develop lifelong learners who are constantly striving to achieve. Each child learns in their own individual way and teachers ensure they plan for each learning style in their lessons.
A large majority of the National Curriculum is taught through themes. Each theme is introduced with a launch day and visits are planned to compliment themes each term. In the summer term we take all of the children to visit places they may not have had the opportunity to yet in their young lives.
Our drivers for learning are; Enterprise, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Independence and Aspirations and these steer our themes.
The curriculum is under constant review to ensure the needs of all the children are being met and to ensure it includes current National Curriculum programmes of study.
